Easily the most versatile light in Exposure’s range, the Diablo Mk3 truly is a wonder of modern light technology. The fact that is pumps out 975 Lumens while weighing just 124g (including helmet mount) is astounding. That’s nearly 8 Lumens per gram!

There are many lights that approach that, but none of them include the battery in that weight. That’s right, the 124g weight includes a Lithium Ion battery that will power the Diablo Mk3 at 975 Lumens for 1 hour. Switching to the medium setting will get you 3 hours of burn time and 10 hours on low. The light will flash for days. If you wish to run the 975 Lumen setting for longer, the Diablo Mk3 will accept either the single or triple Piggyback cell taking the battery capacity from 2600mAh to either 5200mAh or a whopping 10,400mAh.

Exposure have integrated the battery into the light to create a self contained unit since their inception but the integration doesn’t stop there. The power button also acts as the mode selector, showing a green light for high, amber light for medium and a red light for low. After 2 seconds the colour of the light will act as a fuel gauge, showing green (full-50%), amber (50-25%), red (25-5%) and finally flashing red when there is less than 5% charge remaining.

The Diablo Mk3 features Smart Port Technology Plus, which allows you to plug in extra batteries, a white LED (White Eye) for increased light output or a red LED (Red Eye or Red Eye Micro) for visibility from the rear. The internal electronics detect which accessory you’ve connected and configure everything accordingly. The smart electronics also monitor heat, reducing power when the temperature gets too hot to prevent damage to your light, and returning to the original setting when the temperature is safe.
The Diablo is one of our most popular lights. This light is often handlebar mounted with road users or helmet mounted for the ultimate mtb helmet light. The Diablo has one / three / ten hours settings so that it can be tailored for endurance or one lap rides. If you’re riding an endurance event, and want the one hour setting for longer, team it with the single or triple Piggyback Cell to double or quadruple the battery life of the Diablo. Power to weight is sensational with nearly 1000 lumens and only 124g. Weight (incl. helmet mount): 124g Output: 975 lumens Power: 2600 mAh Lithium Ion battery Burn time: High (1 hr) Medium (3 hrs) Low (10 hrs) Emitter: The Diablo uses three Cree XPG R5 LEDs. The Cree XPG R5 is a more refined, higher quality LED of the same type used in the 2011 range. It keeps the same great beam patterns and colour temperature but the light has an additional 7-10% output over last year’s models. We are quoting 325 lumens per LED rather than the 300 in 2011. Collimated Lens Technology: Exposure Lights use collimated Lens technology. These high-tech resin lenses are specifically designed to optimise light collection from each LED. A great deal of time is invested in research to ensure the optimal beam and output is achieved. Weatherproof Body: CNC machined aerospace grade aluminum body with efficient heat transfer design. Function button: Mode and Fuel Gauge indicator. Intelligent Thermal Management (ITM) – NEW for 2012 New patented technology that combats the loss in efficiency of LEDs at elevated temperatures, maintaining optimum output keeping you shining ‘Brighter for Longer’. Smart Port Technology (SPT+) Patented technology that enables a wide range of accessories to run from the power of the light. Cable Free Design (CFD) Gold plated charge port – NEW for 2012 The charge port is now gold plated for more efficient conductivity and it is sealed to a greater level. Storm Cap for Smart Port – NEW for 2012 The Smart Port now has a silicone cover to stop muddy gloves pushing dirt into the port. Includes: Helmet Mount, Lanyard and USB compatible charger.
